New Dimensions
The country just had one of its bleakest Mondays ever. A man intent on recovering what he fully believed to be his own killed several unarmed tourists after the authorities refused to give in to his demands. When the smoke had lifted, the country found itself the subject of global ridicule and the national fury of about a billion people. Just when we thought we could not get any lower in the …

Can an eReader Replace College Textbooks?
The days are getting shorter, you just wrapped up your summer job washing cars, and in a week or two, you’re going to show up on campus with a hatchback crammed to the top with cardboard boxes and hangars. Fall semester is beginning, and besides the funds you’ve set aside for food and beer, you’re going to need a nice chunk set aside for the bane of all college students: textbooks. Pounds and …

The Jew Store

In 1920, in Concordia, Tennessee, Bronson’s dry goods store was known locally as “the Jew store”. With a novelist’s sense of scene, suspense, and characterization, Stella Suberman turns the clock back to a time when rural America was more peaceful but no less prejudiced.

Q&A: Is there a way to get books that aren’t on the kindle store on my kindle?

Kindle Store
by goXunuReviews

Question by Matt H: Is there a way to get books that aren’t on the kindle store on my kindle?
Is it only kindle store or could you somehow get other books?

Best answer:

Answer by Sela C
You should be able to download other formats — at least ones that aren’t DRM locked. It’ll take HTML and Mobi for sure. I’m not certain about PDFs or some of the other formats, though.

For instance, if you wanted to download some of the free classics at Project Gutenberg, they’re in enough formats that one should be Kindle-friendly.

Corner Drug Store

The corner drugstore in a sleepy South Carolina town during the carefree days of the fifties and early sixties was a happy place for childhood friends Lizzy, Sara, Margaret and Leslie Ann. That is, until the summer of 1964 following their high school graduation, when the girls were forced to share a dark secret that would change their lives forever; a secret that has kept them apart for twenty-five years.
